OBJECTIVES
Upon the successful completion of this course, each participant will be able to:-
- Apply and gain an in-depth knowledge on project safety
- Discuss project safety covering duty of care, construction law and management, health and safety management systems, measuring, audit and reviews
- Identify the accidents in projects and implement proper safety on the project construction site
- Apply project safety induction, emergency procedures, work environment and the use of checklists
- Explain the importance of the risk assessment and associated documentation and recording
- Recognize behavioural aspects of safety and the elements of HSE system
- Employ hazard identification, analysis and control including job hazard analysis, change analysis, process hazard analysis, phase hazard analysis and hierarchy of hazard controls
- Plan and conduct a site inspection, review complete inspection reports and develop recommendations and follow-up
- Manage an effective inspection program, establish pre and post-inspection tasks and identify what to inspect and where to gather information
- Record observations accurately as well as develop and use checklists in continuous and formal inspections
- Handle employee reactions to the inspection process, analyze data, set priorities and apply observation techniques
- Apply cranes operations and identify the major causes of crane accidents
- Carryout electrical safety and determine hand and power tools, machine guarding, excavations and the law
- Apply proper scaffolding, permits to work and first aid for the construction worker
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This course provides an overview of all significant aspects and considerations of project safety for project team leaders, site foremen and supervisors, electrician, plumbers and all tradesmen. Further, the course is beneficial for managers and security staff with any function into projects, construction and repair work by third party contractors.
