Residue De-Sulfurization Technology

Residue De-Sulfurization Technology

The residuum produced from the crude unit has a high sulfur and metal (Ni, V, etc.) content. The atmospheric resids from most Middle Eastern crudes have a sulfur content of 4-5%. The purpose of the atmospheric

residuum desulfurization (ARDS) unit is to reduce the sulfur content to less than 0.5 wt.% sulfur to meet the quality criteria of products from downstream units. Also, a significant percentage of feed metals are removed during the process. The desulfurized atmosphericresid is used as a blend component for blending low-sulfur fuel oils or as feed for another processing unit; for example, a delayed Coker unit.

  • Graduate engineers, senior operations personnel or technical supervisory staff involved in the operation, optimization and survey of desulfurization process. The technical content of the course also makes it suitable for engineers from research centers and engineering companies involved in the different aspects of the operation and process control of these processes.
  • Any other technicians who want to get a good understanding of Residue Desulfurization Technology should attend.
